This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) explains the standards and rules for using the products, services, website, smart pet tags, communication features, subscriptions, and related systems operated by Petfuz Australia Pty Ltd (“Petfuz”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) through petfuz.com.au.

By accessing or using Petfuz services, you agree to comply with this Policy in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law.

1. Purpose of Petfuz

Petfuz services are intended to:

• Assist in pet identification through NFC and QR technology
• Facilitate communication between pet owners and individuals who locate lost pets
• Provide digital pet profile functionality
• Support responsible pet information sharing

Users must use Petfuz services only for legitimate, lawful, and authorized purposes.

2. Prohibited Uses

Users must not use Petfuz services to:

• Engage in unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading conduct
• Impersonate another person or organization
• Upload false, misleading, or inaccurate pet or contact information
• Harass, threaten, intimidate, abuse, or harm others
• Upload defamatory, offensive, hateful, obscene, or unlawful content
• Distribute spam, malware, malicious code, or harmful software
• Attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data
• Interfere with platform security, functionality, or operations
• Use the services for surveillance, stalking, or unlawful monitoring
• Collect or harvest user data without authorization
• Use Petfuz services in any manner that may negatively affect Petfuz, its users, or third parties

3. Misuse of Communication Features

Petfuz communication tools, including masked calling, messaging, or contact functionality, must not be used to:

• Send spam or unsolicited communications
• Repeatedly contact users without reasonable purpose
• Conduct harassment, intimidation, or abusive behavior
• Engage in unlawful marketing or commercial solicitation
• Bypass privacy protections
• Misuse communication systems in a way that disrupts services or affects other users

Petfuz may monitor, review, investigate, restrict, suspend, or terminate communication features where misuse or suspicious activity is reasonably identified.

4. Unauthorized Commercial Use

Users must not:

• Resell or commercially exploit Petfuz services without written authorization
• Scrape, harvest, copy, or collect user information or platform data
• Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to access the platform
• Reproduce or distribute platform content without permission
• Use Petfuz branding, intellectual property, or systems in an unauthorized manner

5. Technical Misuse

Users must not:

• Attempt to hack, disrupt, disable, overload, or damage Petfuz systems
• Interfere with platform performance or security
• Upload malicious software or harmful code
• Bypass security or authentication measures
• Probe or test vulnerabilities without authorization
• Engage in activities that may compromise the integrity or reliability of the platform

6. Responsible Use of Pet Tags

Petfuz tags must only be used for legitimate pet identification purposes.

Users must:

• Maintain accurate and current pet profile information
• Ensure uploaded information is lawful and authorized
• Use pet tags responsibly and in good faith

Users must not:

• Attach tags to property or items unrelated to pet identification
• Use tags to mislead, impersonate, or deceive others
• Use tags in any way that may create safety, privacy, or legal concerns

7. Content Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for all information, content, images, notes, messages, and data uploaded or shared through Petfuz services.

This may include:

• Pet profile information
• Contact details
• Medical or emergency notes
• Photographs
• Communications exchanged through the platform

Users represent and warrant that they have the legal right and authority to upload, share, or publish submitted content.

Petfuz does not routinely verify user-submitted content and is not responsible for inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, or offensive information submitted by users.

8. Privacy & Respect

Users must respect the privacy, safety, and rights of others.

Users must not:

• Share another person’s personal information without authorization
• Misuse contact information obtained through Petfuz
• Use information for purposes unrelated to legitimate pet recovery efforts
• Engage in conduct that may compromise the safety or privacy of other individuals

9. Enforcement

Petfuz may investigate suspected violations of this Policy.

Where misuse, unlawful conduct, fraud, or harmful activity is reasonably identified, Petfuz may:

• Remove or restrict content
• Suspend or terminate accounts or services
• Disable pet profiles or communication features
• Block access to systems
• Refuse future access to services
• Report activity to law enforcement or relevant authorities where appropriate

Petfuz may take these actions without prior notice where reasonably necessary to protect users, systems, or the business.

Petfuz reserves the right to preserve evidence and cooperate with law enforcement, regulators, or legal authorities where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the platform, users, or business operations.

10. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Petfuz services are intended to assist in pet identification and recovery efforts.

However, Petfuz does not guarantee:

• Successful pet recovery
• User responses to scans or messages
• Uninterrupted service availability
• Accuracy of user-submitted information
• Reliability of third-party services or communication systems

Services may occasionally become unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, third-party outages, or circumstances outside Petfuz’s reasonable control.

11. Changes to This Policy

Petfuz may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time.

Updated versions will be published on this page with a revised effective date.

Continued use of Petfuz services after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
