Petfuz provides a masked calling feature to help connect pet finders and pet owners while protecting personal contact information. By using this feature, you agree to comply with this Masked Calling Policy.
1. Purpose of Masked Calling
Masked calling is designed solely to support legitimate pet-related communication between a finder and a pet owner.
This feature helps:
- Protect personal phone numbers
- Enable safer communication
- Support lost pet reunification
- Reduce privacy risks for users
Masked calling is not intended for general communication, business marketing, or unrelated personal use.
2. Acceptable Use
By using masked calling, you agree:
- To use the feature only for pet-related communication
- Not to misuse, exploit, or interfere with the system
- To communicate respectfully and responsibly
- To comply with all applicable local laws and regulations
- Not to use the service for harassment, spam, unlawful activity, or non-pet-related purposes
- Not to record calls without appropriate consent where prohibited by applicable laws
Users are responsible for any personal information they voluntarily share during calls.
3. Prohibited Use
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Repeated or excessive calling without valid reason
- Harassment, threats, spam, or marketing calls
- Using the service for non-pet-related purposes
- Attempting to generate artificial or automated call traffic
- Circumventing usage limits or restrictions
- Using bots, scripts, or automated systems
- Any activity intended to abuse, exploit, manipulate, or financially harm Petfuz or its providers
Any misuse may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access.
4. Usage Limits
To protect the platform and maintain fair usage:
- Call frequency and duration may be limited
- Daily or monthly usage caps may apply
- Certain countries or regions may be restricted
- Petfuz may temporarily restrict access where unusual activity is detected
Petfuz reserves the right to apply reasonable limits where necessary to protect the platform, users, and service providers.
5. Monitoring & Fraud Prevention
Petfuz may review usage activity for security, fraud prevention, abuse detection, and platform protection purposes.
We may investigate:
- Unusual call activity
- Repeated failed connection attempts
- Automated or suspicious behaviour
- Potential misuse of the platform
Where misuse is reasonably suspected, Petfuz may:
- Temporarily suspend or restrict accounts
- Limit access to certain features
- Block abusive or fraudulent activity
- Take appropriate legal action where necessary
6. Privacy & Data Handling
Petfuz takes reasonable steps to help protect user privacy when using masked calling features.
Phone numbers may be temporarily processed through secure third-party telecommunications or technology providers to enable communication between users.
Petfuz may also retain limited call-related metadata, such as timestamps, usage activity, or technical logs, for security, fraud prevention, service improvement, and platform protection purposes.
Petfuz does not sell personal phone numbers to third parties.
7. Charges & Liability
Masked calling may be provided as part of a paid subscription or premium service.
Users acknowledge that:
- Standard carrier, telecom, or data charges may apply depending on their mobile provider or location
- Charges may apply to the pet owner, finder, or both parties depending on their individual phone or network plans
- Third-party telecommunications providers may be used to deliver the service
- Service quality may vary depending on network availability and location
Petfuz is not responsible for:
- Telecom provider failures, delays, or outages
- Excessive usage caused by misuse
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Costs arising from abuse of the feature
Users may be held responsible for damages caused by intentional misuse, fraudulent activity, or unauthorized use of the service.
8. No Guarantee of Outcome
Masked calling is intended to assist communication only.
Petfuz does not guarantee:
- Successful contact between users
- Pet recovery or reunification
- Immediate responses from finders or owners
- Continuous or uninterrupted service availability
The feature is designed to support communication but cannot guarantee specific outcomes.
9. Service Limitations
Users acknowledge that:
- Service availability is not guaranteed at all times
- Call quality and connectivity may depend on third-party providers
- International or unsupported regions may have limited functionality
- Temporary outages, delays, or technical issues may occur
Masked calling is not an emergency or emergency-response service and must not be relied upon in urgent, dangerous, medical, or life-threatening situations.
10. Right to Restrict or Terminate
To protect users, platform security, and service reliability, Petfuz may limit, suspend, or restrict access to masked calling where misuse, suspicious activity, or policy violations are reasonably suspected.
Where appropriate, Petfuz may:
- Apply temporary or permanent restrictions
- Review unusual activity
- Investigate suspected abuse or fraud
- Modify or discontinue the feature when necessary to protect the platform or its users
Petfuz will aim to act reasonably and proportionately when enforcing this policy.
11. Reporting Misuse
If you believe the masked calling feature is being misused, or if you receive suspicious, abusive, or inappropriate communication, please contact Petfuz immediately.
Reports may help us investigate abuse and protect our community.
